Boden Canyon & Santa Ysabel Creek

We will travel a fairly wide trail from Pamo Valley into Boden Canyon to the Santa Ysabel Creek. We return on the same trail. The hike will be about 7 miles.
Vegetation communities in the canyon include southern mixed chaparral, coastal sage scrub, coast live oak woodland, Engelmann oak woodland, southern coast live oak riparian forest, and south coast willow riparian forest.
The canyon also supports a variety of common upland game birds and migratory birds as well as mule deer and turkey. Among the sensitive species occurring in the reserve are Engelmann oak, San Diego horned lizard, Arroyo toad, Coastal western whiptail, Two-striped garter snake, Red diamond rattlesnake, Loggerhead shrike, least Bell's vireo, and golden eagle.
Arrive early. We will leaving at 8:30 after meetimg in the parking lot near the Orosco Ridge Trailhead and the Pamo Valley Coast to Crest Trailhead.
If your dog is in need of personal space or has issues with other dogs or people, please hike at the back of the group. Always allow at least 4 ft between your dog and others.
Please bring water for you and your dog. Use a non-retractable leash. Bring first aid and snacks for you and your dog. Have poop bags at the ready.
By attending this event you acknowledge full responsibility for yourself and the actions of your dog. You also acknowledge that at no time is your dog permitted to be off leash when with this group. And, the host is in no way responsible for you or the actions/behavior of your dog.
