About us
Making plans used to be so simple.
You’d call a friend and ask:
“What are you doing?”
“Nothing.”
“Want to go do nothing together?”
That’s the spirit behind Doing Nothing Together DC.
This group is for adults in their 30s & beyond who want more reasons to get out of the house, explore the city, and spend time around good people in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.
Our meetups will be at least once a month and are centered around activities and experiences rather than just sitting around at brunch every weekend. We’ll check out things already happening around the DC area like:
-Improv workshops
-Museum events
-Outdoor festivals
-Markets and pop-ups
-Scenic walks
-Art events
-Seasonal activities
-Community events
-Live music
-Beginner-friendly classes
-Random interesting things happening around the city
Some events will be free and others low cost, but the goal is simple:
leave the house, try something different, and enjoy good company while doing it.
I’ll be attending every meetup as the organizer, so even if you come alone, you’ll already know at least one person there.
If you know of any upcoming events or activities that would be fun for the group, please feel free to send me a direct message.
For many events, I’ll also share a meetup spot shortly before we head in together so no one has to walk in feeling awkward or alone.
This group is intentionally casual, welcoming, and easygoing. No networking pressure and no need to already know people. Just adults looking to enjoy the city and build community one activity at a time.
Because sometimes the best plans start with:
“Want to go do nothing together?”

🎭 Improv for All! Workshop at MLK Library
MLK Library, 901 G Street NW, Washington, DC, USWe’re kicking off our very first Doing Nothing Together DC meetup with something fun, low-pressure, and beginner friendly: a free improv workshop at MLK Library on Saturday, June 27 at 1pm.
No acting or improv experience needed at all. This is meant to be a relaxed way to get out of the house, try something different, and meet new people in a casual environment. Expect light games, laughter, and a welcoming atmosphere.
The workshop normally lasts about 1.5 hours and is at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library at 901 G St. NW. Washington, DC 20011. Someone at the information desk will tell you which room is hosting the improv class.
If you’d like to meet beforehand so you’re not walking in alone, I’ll be by the information desk right after you enter the library from 12:45 PM – 12:55 PM and we can head upstairs together. Feel free to also head straight to the event.
Heads up: wear comfortable shoes because you will be standing most of the time.
If you are driving, came about 10 minutes early to find street parking.
Space is limited. If interested, please sign up through Eventbrite: Eventbrite Registration
