Planet Word Community Day: Words, Games & Interactive Fun 🗣️📚

We’re heading to Planet Word for its 6th Anniversary Community Day on Sunday, October 18. In addition to Planet Word’s interactive exhibits, the museum is offering special activities, pop-up talks, games, and demonstrations throughout the afternoon. Community Day runs from 12:00–4:00 PM.

We’ll meet at 12:00 PM in front of Planet Word. We’ll spend about 15 minutes introducing ourselves and getting to know each other, then head inside together around 12:15 PM.

At 12:30 PM, we’ll join the What’s New in the Library curator pop-up talk. Afterward, we’ll explore the museum and Community Day activities together.

Since we’re meeting right at lunchtime, please eat lunch before you arrive so we can head inside after introductions and start exploring.

Community Day schedule
Here are some of the activities Planet Word has planned:

• 12:00–4:00 PM: Museum-wide scavenger hunt, wordplay table games, and a self-guided Building History & Architecture audio tour
• 12:30–12:45 PM: What’s New in the Library curator pop-up talk, which is the session we plan to attend
• 3:00–3:30 PM: Tech Talk featuring the Globe Raising experience and a behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s technology

Everyone needs to reserve their own 12:00 PM timed-entry ticket for Sunday, October 18 directly through Planet Word. Admission is free, with the option to make a donation.

We’ll plan to spend a couple of hours exploring together, but Community Day continues until 4:00 PM, so anyone who wants to stay longer is welcome to do so.
