2026 ☂️ “SUPER MEMBERSHIP 55+” Under the Umbrella ☂️
Calgary🎀, ..., Calgary, AB, CAIn 2023 a few “Over 50” community centers banded together and offered a SUPER MEMBERSHIP of 4 different communities. They found it so successful that over the last few years many more joined. Today 14 senior activity groups are currently banded together. They are now in the process of getting grants and developing a website so we can see and join the city-wide activities and events in a central place.
Some 55+ activity groups are wonderful, 🤗 welcoming, inclusive, have a wide a variety of events, and are fun….. Some groups are territorial, 😖not very active, have limited events, are unfriendly👎or have very small cliquey enrollments.
My recommendations👍👍 on which quality groups to pay your $50. membership are listed below😘Check their websites see if any fit for you. (NO! I don’t get a $ kickback…I just like good community, a welcoming attitude and to be included when I attend events).🫠
Greater Forest Lawn 55+ Activity Centre
Bow Cliff Seniors
Parkdale Nifty 50s
Bowness Seniors' Centre
Ogden 50+ Activity Centre
Unison at Kerby Centre (free parking in their downtown lot when you visit there)
West Hillhurst Go-Getters
Good Companions 50 plus
The cost for 2026 (Jan – Dec) super membership is $50.00 which includes membership pricing and privileges at ALL the activity centers that are registered this year💵. (A great value if you are active, social and like participating in a variety of activities). Go to the center of your choice, that best meets your needs, to purchase your membership.
The programing and socializing in all these centers is open to anyone but is tailored to those who are 50+ years.
Mix and Mingles Over 50 Singles❤️, Living It Up 💫 and Do Something New 55➕ Meetups will also have volunteer opportunities and will work in consort to cross-post events with the above listed good quality 55+ activity groups. Hope to see you at some of the events and activities this year!1 attendee
