We are committed to empowering mature adults to stay engaged and keep connected; enabling all of us to keep active and maintain independence in a warm and supportive environment. Our primary goal is to offer essential services and activities while embracing new and innovative ideas.
We invite all persons 55+ years and others (couples and/or singles), who want to connect, socialize with like-minded individuals, and participate in fun and interesting activities.  We work with other quality Meet-up groups, Facebook groups and 55+ activity groups to provide a variety of events throughout Calgary.

## MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS & PROTOCOL

### 1. Membership Is Optional

  • Yearly membership is optional
  • You may attend events by paying the applicable drop-in fee

### 2. About GFLS's Membership

  • GFLS is a non-profit, membership-driven organization
  • Annual membership: $35 per person
  • Drop-ins are welcome (nominal fees apply)

    • Access 14 activity centres across the city
    • Enjoy member discounts
    • Treated as a full member at all centres
      • Voting rights and birthday celebrations are held at your home centre

### 3. Event Costs

  • Each participant is responsible for their own cost. This includes (but is not limited to): food, beverages, admission fees, travel, and parking (although parking is free at GFLS)

### 4. Code of Conduct

  • There is zero tolerance for abuse or inappropriate behavior
  • Any member may be banned at the discretion of the Executive Director, Organizers, or Board of Directors

### 5. Meetup Profile Requirements

  • Members must use their real name (first name and last initial)
  • A clear, current photo of your face is required
  • This is for safety, organizer recognition, and scam prevention

### 6. Health & Safety

  • When attending in person events ... If you are ill or coughing ... do not attend
  • Masks may be worn for personal comfort and safety
  • Please cancel your RSVP

### 7. RSVP & Attendance Policy

  • If you RSVP YES but cannot attend, please change your RSVP to NO at least 24 hours in advance
  • Organizers must confirm reservations and waitlists
  • 3 no-shows or late cancellations may result in removal from future events

### 8. Liability & Participation

  • We strive to provide clear event information to help you decide whether to participate
  • The Board of Directors and organizers are not responsible for injury, loss, or damage during events
  • By signing up, you acknowledge that you participate entirely at your own risk

EVENT: ВІТАЄМО – WELCOME 🤝 The Calgary Ukrainian community invites you to experience all the excitement the Calgary Ukrainian Festival has to offer. We host our festival in the spirit of community and camaraderie, and with deep respect to the many Ukrainian immigrants who settled across Canada more than 125 years ago.
We honour their memory by preserving our cultural heritage and continuing the many customs and traditions that have been passed down from one generation to the next.

WHEN: Saturday June 6, 2026 Hours: Saturday 10am – 12am We will meet at 2:00 pm and stay for the after hours ZABAVA until midnight. (if you sign up with the group ..please hang out with the group)
WHERE: Acadia Recreation Complex – 240 90 Ave SE, Calgary, AB meet at front entrance inside after you purchase your ticket. Look for the meetup sign.
COST: $2 Meetup fee for all

WHO: Singles 50+ and others. This is a multi-Meetup Facebook event so the number of people signed up on this location may not reflect the true number of people attending.
DRESS CODE: Dress for conditions of the day. It may be crowded/ There is walking involved, wear comfy shoes.
PARKING/TRANSPORTATION: Free parking in the strip mall adjacent to the building. Free parking after 6 pm. Street parking. Paid parking in area. Parking is crowded you may have to walk a few blocks. Check Calgary transit schedule

CONDITIONS: No-shows and short-notice (within 24 hrs of event) cancellations are recorded and may limit your admittance to future events.
CONSIDERATIONS: Please support the festival by purchasing food and/or beverages/
WAIVER By signing up (RSVP) for this event, you agree to the following conditions: that the organizers and hosts of this event are volunteers and may hold no special training. You are aware of all the risks associated with this event and are aware of your physical and emotional limits and how they relate to this particular event. You acknowledge that you have sufficient medical insurance coverage in the event of any injury. You also agree that you take full responsibility without exception for the safety and well-being of yourself and your guest(s) and promise to not hold the host(s) or event organizers of Mix and Mingles Over 50 Singles and Living It Up-YYC groups and any other groups or venues responsible for any harm, injury, losses, or property damage that might occur as a result of your voluntary participation. Participants understand that they may be photographed and agree to allow their photo, video, or film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the organizers. Participants who agree to carpool do so at their own discretion and risk. You acknowledge that it is unsafe and against the law for you to drive while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
