If the weather’s warm, we’re turning this into a beach day! Bring your swimsuit, towel, and sunscreen and enjoy the sun, sand, and waves along the shores of Lake Winnipeg. Whether it’s swimming, sunbathing, or just chilling by the water, it’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday.

We’ll wander through Main Street and the Harbour, taking in the local charm. Expect cute shops, lakeside views, and lots of chances to snap a photo or two. Don’t miss out on grabbing some vínarterta from the local bakery—this delicious Icelandic layered cake is a Gimli must-try! 🍰

🍽️ Food Time
When hunger hits, we’ll either sit down at a local restaurant or grab takeout and find a scenic spot to eat. Whether you're into fish and chips, burgers, or something sweet, there’s something for everyone in town.

Feel free to pack your own food if you prefer.

🎇 Evening Fireworks Show
As the sun sets, we’ll find a good spot by the water to settle in for the Canada Day fireworks. Expect a beautiful show lighting up the night sky over the lake—a perfect ending to a great day.

Transportation:
Since this is located outside of the city, we will do our best to arrange a carpool in advance. We’ll meet at Modern Coffee (191 Inkster Blvd) at 2:00pm⏰ and arrange a carpool to make the journey together. 🚗

Parking is available on the street or in the No Frills parking lot.
