Welcome to our very first meetup! We're very excited to announce two amazing talks for our first event - delving into the exciting world of .NET Core, Docker, and Azure!

Containers will save the world! Ok, so maybe not. In fact, maybe containers aren't even for you!

This session will peel away the hype behind containerisation, microservices and devops, to give you a tour of containers with Docker. We'll start with developing applications in containers on your local machine, and then take you on a journey from there to deploying into clustered environments. Along the way we'll take a look at some cool tech including .NET Core, Visual Studio Code, and Azure Container Service. Maybe, together, we can indeed save the world?

The cloud is all fun and games, until someone loses an app. It turns out, as we build applications using “modern” technology, like the cloud, and “modern” methodologies, like agile, we often forget about a very essential component – reliability.

In this session, we’ll have a look at various patterns and practices on improving your application’s SLA. We’ll also look at what Microsoft Azure offers as a platform for you to build on.

There will be diagrams, there will be demos, and there will be differing opinions. At the end, though, you’ll hopefully have some new points to think about when you’re architecting/developing your applications!
