About us

We started the Downtown Control Finding Walk Society because we love moving slowly through parks with a map and a goal. We meet in different green spaces around the city and invite others to come find control points with us. You'll walk familiar places in new ways. You'll learn basic map skills or build on what you know. We explore on foot. We pause at landmarks. We share quiet moments under trees. No background required. You don't need special gear or fast legs. Some days we follow orienteering courses. Other days we wander with clues or walk at night with headlamps. Events range from small groups of three to slightly bigger ones of ten. Each walk builds on the last. Being around people who get the calm in navigation is special. Come join us. Newcomers are always welcome. This isn't about speed. It's about noticing what's been there all along.
