What we’re about
As Jane Austen once wrote, "I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of any thing than of a book!"
What makes Jane Austen, so very Jane Austen? That is what we have created this group to find out! Whether you are just discovering her, or are a devout, there is no questioning that there is a reason her books have been favourites for more than 200 years. Her writings are transcendent and have withstood the test of time, making her one of the most read authors in the world, though she only completed six novels. She breathes life into her all of her narratives and her satirical observation of the world in which she lived has been a basis of discussion for decades and our group is no different. Anything and everything she wrote or inspired is on the table for discussion in this group about our favourite author. Join us for Austenian conversation that even Anne Elliot would approve!
** Please keep in mind, now that the world is opening up again and we are having meetings in person, when we are indoors, and not via zoom or outside, your RSVP is very important. If you cannot make an event, please kindly remember to adjust your status so that people on our waiting list can be notified that there is a spot for them. **
**Also, referencing the email I sent out in November 2022, I will be starting to take attendance this year due to an increase of no-shows in the past year. Repeated no-shows will be bumped to the waitlist so as not to take up one of our limited spaces. But maybe moved day of, if the meeting is not full.**
