An Introduction to Life Modelling
Studio Unfold, Rear of Garnet House, College Road, Kemptown, BN2 1EU, Brighton, GBEVENT INFORMATION AND TICKET LINK
Curious about life modelling? Practice short poses, learn the realities, boundaries & freedom of Life Modelling with model & artist Jade. For over seven years, Jade Hylton has worked at the heart of the creative industry as a professional life model — collaborating with studios, independent artists, sculptors, painters, photographers, publishers and more. What began as a curious step into an unconventional world has grown into a career defined by confidence, discipline, and deep creative exchange.
Along the way, Jade has become a quiet beacon for newcomers. Life modelling is often seen as an unconventional line of work — and naturally, it brings questions. How do you start? What are the boundaries? How do you protect yourself? What does it really feel like to hold a pose under bright lights, or to work independently in such a vulnerable space?
After years of being approached for guidance, Jade has created this Life Model Enrichment Session — a grounded, empowering introduction for those curious about stepping into the world of life modelling.
This session is designed for beginners, aspiring models and already practicing models who want to tighten up their modelling skills and are looking for some guidance in the industry.
It is for those who are drawn to:
• The creative freedom of working within the arts
• The empowerment and neutrality of nudity in professional spaces
• The flexibility of self-employment
• Building confidence and strong personal boundaries
• Understanding the realities (not just the romance) of the jobJade shares practical knowledge and lived experience, including:
– How to approach studios and artists professionally
– Setting rates
– Safety, consent, and navigating boundaries
– Physical endurance and pose practice, including short poses, dynamic poses and setting up poses. What you need to bring
– Dressing gown
– Slippers/slidersThis is not about glamourising the role — it’s about demystifying it. Life modelling is work. It requires presence, resilience, communication skills, and self-awareness. But it can also be liberating, creatively fulfilling, and financially viable when approached professionally.
Whether you’re artist-curious, creatively inclined, or simply exploring what freedom in your body and career might look like, this session offers an honest, informed starting point.
If you are already modelling but would like to work on some of your pose structure, angles and pose creativity, come along!
Life modelling isn’t about being looked at.It’s about being seen — professionally, respectfully, and on your own terms.
Early Bird tickets £10 / Standard tickets £15 (+booking fees) limited spaces. Tickets available on Eventbrite.
