Hi All,
Apologies for the quietness.
It’s a little bit late, but before we go into the new year, I thought it might be nice to do a quick meet and greet and see the x-mas market, then head to Broad Street and finally maybe (big maybe) go clubbing after, if anywhere is open.
It’s pretty cold, but I’m sure they’ll have hot drinks and hot food in the market area and nice stands and lights.
🚀 THE FUN PART! (whhooooooo) 🚀
The Plan
🎯1. Meet Location 6.30pm
The meetup place is inside Birmingham New Street station next to the mechanical bull at 6.30pm.
Please aim to arrive for then, as at 6.45pm to 7pm, we will head to the market area (5-minute walk) and look at the different stalls and maybe get some hot food or hot drinks (or cold). ☕
There is also a hot beverage opposite the meeting point (I will a hot chocolate and one for whoever turns up first)
🎯2. Christmas Market (7pm – 8pm)
I am not huge fan of the cold, if we’re all wrapped up warm, maybe we can stay out a bit later. There’ll be lots of space to socialise more with different people. 🎄
🎯3. Broad Street (8pm – 9.30pm)
Any place that’s fairly quite; got a drink and have a laugh, more time to socialise with others.
We can also make a plan for if anyone wants to go clubbing or not. 🌆
🎯4. Clubbing or home (9.30pm to 11)
Look, I’ve rarely gone clubbing, it’s not really my thing, if it’s open then we can go.
Before or around 11pm, we need look at ways to get home for those relying on public transport. 🎉
THE NOT SO FUN PART (booooooooo)
☹Ground Rules ☹
Please note: this meetup group is intended to ensure events are offered in a safe, friendly, professional and welcoming environment; you are therefore required to abide by the following social equity guidelines.
#1 Respect Differences
The meetup group is not a dating or business/sales opportunity group – treat everyone with respect as you would want to be treated yourself, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, etc.
#2 Avoid Politics
Avoid talking negatively about other participants or topics where there might be conflict; ultimately, people are out to relax; they don’t want to handle topics which might be stressful.
#3 Aim to Socialise
Primarily the group exists to meet new people who have different interests and make new friends. Avoid avoiding people; come to the host for direction on who has similar interests, e.g., studying, anime, sports, etc.
#4 Be professional/have integrity
No antisocial behaviour (against others or yourself, e.g., being very drunk). Have fun, but avoid getting “too excited” while the host is present, as otherwise I will have to handle the situation.
#5 Set boundaries
Don’t be pushy with regard to making conversation, and always try to be polite. If outside of the group contact information is exchanged, try to avoid annoying people and keep conversations private (aka no drama for everyone else).
6# Relax and enjoy yourself!
These ground rules ensure all attendees can have an enjoyable experience, so you can relax and enjoy yourself. Please keep them in mind and have fun! *ੈ🍸✩‧₊˚
