Step back in time and explore the rustic charm of Pulau Ubin — Singapore’s last remaining kampong (village)! Once a granite quarrying hub, it's now a peaceful escape from the city — perfect for hiking, cycling and exploring. Join us for a refreshing day of hiking, wildlife spotting, meeting like minded people and simple joys surrounded by nature.
We will be walking through central-west part of Ubin visiting Pekan Quarry, Puaka Hill (Short, steep hike to Ubin’s highest point with stunning quarry views), German Girl Shrine, Jelutong Campsite etc.

📍 Location: Pulau Ubin, Singapore
🛤️Distance: 8-10 km (slow and steady walk).
🎒Difficulty: Easy – Moderate | Suitable for all fitness levels. Dirt trail, uneven ground, humid & hot weather.How to reach:
MRT/Bus: Take blue line MRT to Tampines East station & take exit B. Board a bus no 59 from the bus stop. Get down at the last stop of Changi village bus terminal. Walk along Lor Bekukong to Changi Point Ferry Terminal.
Note-: Please make sure that you must have a heavy breakfast because this walk will end around 2 pm. Beside Changi bus terminal has a big Hawker Centre. Its good to bring some snacks for the walk.

What to Bring:
- Please bring along $8 for your return ferry ticket.
- Comfortable Footwear: Wear your best walking shoes to ensure a pleasant stroll.
- Water Bottle: Stay refreshed – hydration is key! (1-2 liter)
- Light Snacks: Its a long walk so pack some healthy snacks to fuel up during or after our walk.
- Camera or Smartphone: Capture the morning’s beauty and the lovely moments with the group.
- Sunscreen & Hat: Protect yourself from the sun as we enjoy the outdoors. Mosquito repellent.
- Raincoat or umbrella incase if its raining.
What to Do:
- Nature Walk: Enjoy a leisurely stroll while soaking in the lush greenery and vibrant wildlife.
- Wildlife Spotting: Keep an eye out for native birds and other wildlife as we explore the boardwalk.
- Group Chat: Share stories, experiences and engage in discussions about nature, fitness and your favorite outdoor activities.
- Network with like minded people.
- Mindful Breathing: Take a moment to connect with nature through guided mindful breathing as we walk.
What Not to Do:
- No Littering: Let’s keep the island pristine—please dispose of any trash properly.
- Avoid Loud Noise: Keep conversations at a respectful volume to maintain the serene atmosphere.
- No Smoking: To preserve the clean environment and the health of all participants, smoking is prohibited.
- Do Not Disturb Wildlife: Observe animals from a distance and refrain from feeding them.
Additional Notes:
Please be punctual. We recommend arriving a little early to avoid any disappointment. There will be a 5-minute grace period for attendance taking. Kindly note that we won’t be able to delay the start, as it would be unfair to those who are already present.
This Meetup group is run by volunteers and is community-led. We appreciate your understanding in any areas where we may fall short. Constructive feedback is always welcome as we aim to continuously improve!
