Join us for a refreshing walk through Thomson Nature Park, one of Singapore’s most serene green escapes. This lesser-known gem is rich in biodiversity, heritage, and peaceful forest trails – perfect for nature lovers and casual walkers alike.

Thomson Nature Park spans 50 hectares and has 5 trails, totaling about 3.8 km. All trails are relatively easy, but for this Meetup, we will be walking appx 5–6 km, covering most of the trails to fully experience the park’s natural beauty and heritage sites.

Along the way, we’ll explore the remnants of a 1930s Hainanese village, spot wildlife like the Raffles’ Banded Langur, and enjoy shady streams, bamboo groves, and lush secondary rainforest.

✅ Ruins & Figs Trail (~1.5 km) – Passes heritage ruins of a former Hainanese village and majestic fig trees.
✅ Stream & Ferns Trail (~1.4 km) – Walks along clear freshwater streams with lush fern vegetation.
✅ Langur Trail (~0.15 km) – Best chance to spot the endangered Raffles’ Banded Langur.
✅ Macaque Trail (~0.4 km) – Shady loop featuring fast-growing pioneer trees.
✅ Rambutan Trail (~0.4 km) – Path lined with charming bamboo groves, great for photos.

Where to meet:

• From Springleaf MRT (Brown line) take bus number 138 / 167 / 169 / 860 & get down at 3rd bus stop of Bef Tagore Dr. Thats our meeting point.

What to Bring:

• Comfortable Footwear: Wear your best walking shoes to ensure a pleasant stroll.
• Water Bottle: Stay refreshed – hydration is key! (1-2 liter)
• Light Snacks: Pack some healthy snacks to fuel up during or after our walk.
• Camera or Smartphone: Capture the morning’s beauty and the lovely moments with the group.
• Sunscreen & Hat: Protect yourself from the sun as we enjoy the outdoors. Mosquito repellent.
• Raincoat or umbrella incase if its raining.

What to Do:

• Nature Walk: Enjoy a leisurely stroll while soaking in the sea breeze & lush greenery around the park.
• Group Chat: Share stories, experiences and engage in discussions about nature, fitness and your favorite outdoor activities.
• Network with like-minded people.
• Mindful Breathing: Take a moment to connect with nature through guided mindful breathing as we walk.

What Not to Do:

• No Littering: Let’s keep the island pristine—please dispose of any trash properly.
• Avoid Loud Noise: Keep conversations at a respectful volume to maintain the serene atmosphere.
• No Smoking: To preserve the clean environment and the health of all participants, smoking is prohibited.
• Do not enter restricted or off-trail areas.

Additional Notes:

Photos and videos will be taken during the walk and may be shared on our social media. By joining, you consent to appear in group shots. Let us know beforehand if you’d prefer not to be included — we respect your privacy!

Please be punctual. We recommend arriving a little early to avoid any disappointment. There will be a 5-minute grace period for attendance taking. Kindly note that we won’t be able to delay the start, as it would be unfair to those who are already present.

Every November, Chiang Mai transforms into a dreamlike wonderland during the Yi Peng & Loy Krathong Festival, Thailand’s most enchanting celebration of light.

🌸 Festival Origins & Meaning

• Loy Krathong (“to float a basket”) is a centuries-old Thai tradition, believed to date back to the Sukhothai Kingdom (13th century). People float decorated lotus baskets (krathongs) on rivers to honor the water goddess and let go of misfortune.
• Yi Peng, unique to Northern Thailand and especially Chiang Mai, is a Lanna (old Northern Thai kingdom) festival where thousands of glowing lanterns (khom loi) are released into the night sky, symbolizing wishes, blessings, and a fresh start.
