Drinking Liberally Encinitas, Ca

An informal, inclusive progressive social group. Drinking Liberally gives like-minded, left-leaning individuals a place to talk politics.

We are a chapter of Drinking Liberally, which is a part of living liberally (a national organization). My husband and I started the Encinitas chapter a bit after we moved here. We started meeting in 2007. Most of our current members found us through the Living Liberally website http://livingliberally.org/ but since I attend meetups around SD county I thought it might be a good way to attract more people. It has been such a great way to meet like- minded people and we have made life long friends with many of them.

We have occasionally had politicians and authors come visit our meetings and we sometimes have meetings at members houses to watch debates and things. I would like to do more of these types of things as well as some activism (some of us have campaigned for politicians and propositions). I am open to suggestions for meetups outside of our regular every other Thursday meetings. Ideas are welcomed and encouraged!
