Drone & Roam Scotland

An informal collective of independent amateur and intermediate drone pilots who want to capture Scotland’s most dramatic landscapes from above. A crew of like-minded creators heading out to epic locations to fly, share tips, and get incredible cinematic footage.

How It Works

The Launch Plan: We are currently building our core crew. Once we hit our first few members, the first official location event will be posted.

Strictly Limited Numbers: To keep flights safe, manageable, each meetup will be capped at a maximum of 5 pilots.

The Locations: We target incredible backdrops across Scotland (castles, coastlines, and glens).

The Schedule: Meetups are casual. We turn up, socialise, do our own pre-flight checks, and fly.

The Rule: If you know, you know. This group is for amateur and intermediate pilots who already know the basics of handling their aircraft.

⚠️ The Essential Legal Stuff (Please Read)
Important: This is a social gathering of independent pilots, not a guided tour or a commercial training event. You are the Pilot in Command (PIC) of your own aircraft.

By joining this group and attending meetups, you explicitly agree to the following:

No Organiser Liability: The organiser accepts absolutely zero responsibility or liability for any legal breaches, airspace violations, fines, or damage/loss to your equipment or third-party property. You fly entirely at your own risk.

Compliance is on You: You must hold a valid CAA Flyer ID and Operator ID (and ensure your drone complies with the latest 2026 regulations, including the 100g registration threshold and Remote ID where applicable).

Do Your Own Recon: The organiser does not guarantee that the meetup locations have been formally surveyed or cleared for drone flight. Every pilot is strictly required to conduct their own site assessment and real-time airspace check (using apps like Drone Scene or Altitude Angel) before taking off.

Insurance: While we don't check paperwork, we strongly recommend all members carry valid Public Liability Insurance (e.g., via FPV UK or BMFA) to protect themselves.
