SAND MANDALA CREATION SEPTEMBER 19th-22nd, 2025
Creation times may vary
For the first time, this year's Mani Drubchen will feature the creation of a traditional sand mandala—a sacred art form that will serve as a profound representational support throughout the retreat.
This intricate mandala, crafted from colored sand, will remain in place for the duration of the drubchen, symbolizing the celestial palace of the deity and representing a microcosm of the universe held within the compassionate blessings of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion.
Join us to witness this sacred creation: The lamas will construct the sand mandala from September 19-22, prior to the drubchen. You're warmly invited to visit the meditation hall at DNJ during this period to observe this remarkable spiritual artistry in progress.
ANNUAL MANI DRUBCHEN SEPTEMBER 23-28th, 2025
DNJ is honored to welcome four distinguished lamas who will be joining us for the complete duration of this year's Mani Drubchen retreat:
Venerable Khenmo Tsechik and Venerable Lopön Gamtso will be visiting from the Drikung Dharma Surya Center in Fairfax, Virginia.
Venerable Lopön Kalsang will be joining us from the Three Rivers Tibetan Cultural Center in Swissvale, Pennsylvania.
Venerable Lotsawa Lama Nyandak will be visiting from Rinchen Ling Monastery in Nepal.
We are deeply grateful for their presence and the profound blessings they will bring to our practice community during this sacred gathering.
