Talk #1: Building the Druid and Trino connector for Netflix scale

Talk Abstract #1:
Parth Brahmbhatt will focus on the core components of how they built the JDBC connector for Druid + Trino, enhancing Trino's optimizer to support full aggregate pushdown to unlock interactive dashboards using existing BI tools and future planned enhancements. He will further discuss the first set of use cases that this improvement has unlocked within Netflix’s data warehouse.
Talk #2: Powering Netflix’s real time analytics platform (at millions of events per second)

Samarth Jain’s talk will cover what it took to enable Druid to provide real time analytics at Netflix and the lessons/challenges/best practices they learned along the way. He will also dive into the use cases they incrementally built out to the platform it is today.

Bio #1: Parth Brahmbhatt, Sr. Software Engineer (Big Data), Netflix
Parth Brahmbhatt is part of the Big Data Compute team which is responsible for enhancing, integrating and supporting OSS query engines like Spark, Trino, Druid, Hadoop and for data and table formats like Parquet and Iceberg. He primarily contributes to Trino and Iceberg. Before Netflix, he contributed to Apache Storm and Kafka at Hortonworks and to AWS Kinesis at AWS.
Bio #2: Samarth Jain, Software Engineer (Big Data), Netflix
Samarth Jain is part of the Big Data Compute team at Netflix contributing to Apache Druid, Apache Iceberg and Trino. Before Netflix, he was working at Salesforce in the Big Data and Core Infrastructure groups. He is an Apache Druid committer and an Apache Phoenix PMC member.
