About us

Gather with us outdoors under the trees in KPC’s Peace Park every Sunday at 1:30pm for our weekly community drum circle. We meet near the 13-foot Guru Rinpoche statue at the park entrance—just across River Road from the main temple building.

We drum and chant sacred mantras together, focusing our shared intention on bringing life-giving rain to the DMV region and all drought-stricken areas around the world. Whether you've been drumming for years or are joining a circle for the first time, you are warmly welcome here.

What to know before you come:

When: Sundays at 1:30pm

Instruments: Bring a drum or percussion instrument if you have one! If you don't, we usually have extra instruments to share, or you can simply bring your voice and chant along with us.

Weather Policy: We keep an eye on the sky and hold out until the last minute before canceling. If rain is in the forecast, we drum right up until the storm begins (or wait out a brief passing shower to start). Check our drum circle group on Facebook for community photos and real-time updates if the weather looks iffy: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1999PYgFw9/

Drop by this Sunday—we’d love to see you there. If you'd like to spend more of your afternoon at the temple, you are also welcome to visit the prayer room, sit by the koi ponds, explore the walking trails in our 65-acre Peace Park, or join our Sunday practice schedule before or after the drum circle.
