The Classical Edition - Lysistrata

Details
DrunkSpeare is going Classical! It is time to go back, time to go way back, to ancient Greece, to a time in the past where things made sense. Or well, maybe not, maybe things were just as messed up back then - come on by and see with our next play - Lysistrata by Aristophanes. Last time we branched out with some Thomas Middleton, and that worked out better than I hoped. I was a little worried that the play was maybe going to be a bit too messed up, but it was entertaining and kept us going. But hey, maybe my worries are for this time, when you think messed up, you think ancient Greece. Here we have a play about war, power and sex — and did I mention it is a comedy? Come on by and you could be a magistrate that wants war, or a fierce woman that wants to stop it, or maybe just an old man in the chorus.
We will read the whole play, but will still try to keep it to two hours. The parts are handed out at random, and will be changed from time to time. Bring your phones and tablets, we will be reading the play from online, and a version of the play is here:

There is another version that can be found here:

There might be copies of the play at your local library, and it is always a good idea to visit your local library. If you go, let us know if you found a copy there. If you want to study up on the play before the day, you can find more info here:
