Drunken Philosophy: Does (a) God Exist?

The consensus at the July 25th DP was that the next prompt be the question above. I said I would write it, although I can't attend since that is the day of our Humanist Community of Central Ohio's member picnic. First maybe we should define what is meant by "god". Is it the god of the old testament or the new testament? Is it Spinoza's god? Is it a deist? Is god male, female or neither? Is the Tao a god? With thousands of religions in the world, which one has the absolute correct version of THE supreme being? Well, you get the idea. Anyway--right up front--I say categorically that NO god(s) exist or ever have existed. The reasons: we know how the universe and the Earth began and developed: physics, chemistry, geology, and biology--not by means of any supernatural intervention. Second, for "Christianity" the Bible is claimed as the evidence and/or proof of God but the Bible is a mish mash assembled by multiple writers over time and assimilates many traditions of much earlier Mesopotamian religions and contains so many contradictions how can it be "un-erring"? Finally, and for me, the clinching question: where is just one piece of evidence of any god's existence? Just ONE piece! I am sure some of you will not buy these arguments but that is why we get together to respectfully and intelligently discuss philosophical questions. I'll miss the lively discussion.
