About us
Welcome to Drunken Philosophy: Madison!
This is a casual discussion group for people who like big ideas without the textbook. We meet at a bar, grab a drink (or don't, no pressure!) and talk through one philosophical question each night. No readings, no lectures, no preparation needed - just curiosity and a willingness to listen to ideas.
Topics may include anything from meaning, morals and ethics, happiness, current world events, and anything else worth talking about (recommendations for topics are always welcome!). You don't need to know philosophers' names, or which treatise mentioned some obscure topic - all you need is yourself and your own ideas.
Come alone or with a friend, stay silent or jump in. The goal isn't to "win" an argument, it's to walk out a little more learned or drunk than when you walked in (or both in a best case scenario).
This is an inclusive space. Everyone is welcome regardless of background, identity, or belief systems. The only thing that will NOT be tolerated is intolerance. Disagreement is encouraged, disrespect is not.
