What is Drupal?

It is used as a back-end (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Back-end) system for at least 1.5% of all websites (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_wide_web) worldwide ranging from personal blogs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog) to corporate, political, and government sites including whitehouse.gov (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitehouse.gov) and data.gov.uk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data.gov.uk).
