CCC – Coffee, Chess & Conversations!
I’ve always felt that a simple game of chess or a cup of coffee can be a good way to bring people together. That’s pretty much how the idea of CCC came about.
The idea is to get a small group of people together at a café, enjoy a game of chess (or other board games), have a coffee and, most importantly, have some good conversations.
I’m starting this group with no particular agenda or commercial interest. It’s simply about meeting new people, getting away from our usual routines and spending some quality time in good company.
Who is this for?
Pretty much anyone who enjoys meeting people and is open to a bit of socialising. You don’t have to be a chess player or even know how to play. Whether you’re a beginner, a casual player or someone who takes chess seriously, you’re welcome. What matters more is having a friendly attitude and being comfortable interacting with others.
What do we do?
Nothing too formal. We meet at a café, set up a chessboard, play a few games, grab a coffee or something to eat and chat. There is no competition, no pressure and no fixed agenda. If you’re not in the mood to play, that’s perfectly fine too.
I’ll bring the chess set. Everyone can order their own food and drinks directly from the café.
A few practical details:
.- Meetups will be around the central Dubai. The exact café location will be shared with participants once they join the meetup.
.- Everyone takes care of their own café bill.
.- No membership fees or commercial activities involved.
At the end of the day, it’s really about good people, interesting conversations and perhaps a little friendly competition over the chessboard.
