Smartphone Pub quiz Sunday at McGowans of Phisborough/Phisboro.
- Quiz starts around 7.00 pm and is free
- It's super fast-paced so it's great escapism and a tonne of fun
- I'll be there from 5.30 pm for anyone who wishes to arrive early and have some food/drinks/chat. Yay! Please join me. We can memorise flags together and the periodic table. :)
- I'll describe where we're sitting in the comments section so check there on the night for exact location
- No chance of winning because we are up against professional teams who answer the question before it's been asked. Our aim is to make it into the top ten for some of the evening. We're getting better every time.
- Gets noisy later in the night which is annoying
- I have to leave around 8.20 regrettably (or 8.40 at a push) but the quiz goes on till after 9. Don’t feel like you have to stay for the whole thing if you have to get your beauty sleep in for Monday. On the other hand, oftentimes people like to stay on to clinch the deal, and they are all lovely.
- 5 euros pints/bottles/spirits
- 9 euros for the cauliflower wings is a meal and a half and a taste sensation that's worth coming out for alone.
- Food in general is yum, but not for the waistline. The serving sizes are HUGE. Be warned. We're not going to get 'the rack' eating here.
- I've found the people that come along to be among Dublin's best: we're a filter for the nicest, no fuss people in town!
Please note I only open RSVPs a few days beforehand, to give ourselves the maximum thinking time as to whether we are actually available on the night.
