Innsbruck to Vipiteno

Details
Distance: 58 km | Ascent: +1380 m
Day two of our tour is a big day as we cross the Alps at the Brenner Pass, from Austria into Italy.
A steady, scenic climb takes us from Innsbruck up to the Brenner Pass (1370 m), mostly on quiet roads and cycle paths. The gradient is gentle, making the ascent manageable with great alpine views throughout.
From the pass, we roll into Italy and arrive in Vipiteno (Sterzing), a colourful Tyrolean town with medieval charm.
Highlights:
Peaceful riding through the Wipptal Valley, alongside alpine meadows and the River Sill, and entering into the South Tyrol region
, also called the Alto Adige.
Coffee stop in Matrei at cafe ceteo
Sweeping views from the Brenner Pass
Exploring the old town of Vipiteno, including the 15th-century Zwölferturm clock tower
A rewarding day with a real sense of crossing into a new landscape and culture.
