What we’re about
• What this group is about,
Regular gatherings and short courses for spiritual nourishment.
• Gatherings for spiritual nourishment.
Gatherings begin with a welcome by the host followed by mindfulness practice informed by some short readings.
The final part is informal and social with light refreshments.
• Regular courses for spiritual nourishment.
Courses are small informal study & activity courses for those interested in raising the quality of their spiritual, social and material surroundings.
They typically involve a few people, meeting for a few hours each week to read, reflect on and discuss some ideas. The material we use has been prepared by the Ruhi Institute.
The courses explore the spiritual nature of the individual, the community, children, youth and society in the light of the perspectives offered in the Baha'i teachings.
The first of the courses, called 'Reflections on the Life of the Spirit', is concerned with individual identity. It explores the spiritual nature of the individual from the perspective offered in the Baha'i teachings.
Through study, conversation, and personally guided activity you are invited to reflect on your nature and raise your ability to meet your spiritual needs in a self directed way.
Subsequent courses examine the nature of community, children, youth and society in the light of the perspective offered in the Baha'i teachings.
Study of these topics allows individuals to develop their own appreciation of the nature and needs of each member in society; adults, youth, children, community and institutions. The Ruhi courses also aid participants in developing the skills to respond to those needs with the support of other members of the study group and the group's facilitator.
