Sea kayaking to Baily Lighthouse - South Howth
1. About the Trip Come and join us for a fun Kayaking trip around the coastline from Shielmartin road in Howth North towards the Baily Lighthouse. We kayak along the coastline from Beach North towards the Lighthouse. We pass a Martello tower, one of many built along the coast of Ireland. These towers were built during the 19th century as coastal Forts. On this trip we see plenty of sea birds including cormerants, sea gulls and terns on the сliffs, and hopefully some seals. We kayak out to a point where we can see the daily lighthouse. We stop on a small beach area in the base of the cliffs for some refreshments. We do take some photos during the trip which we will upload to the event page after the trip. The trip follows the coastline North towards the Baily Lighthouse. This kayaking session is suitable for the beginners, but all of you have to be 18 years of age and over and must know how to swim. 3. We Will Provide - all the equipment and sit on top kayaks, life jackets - wetsuit 3mm, spay top, water boots 3mm, gloves 3mm - full safety instruction, instructors all the time during the trip - we will make your pictures, you can download them after the session any time for free - changing facilities - place to keep your belongings - free water, tea, coffee and snacks 4. What you need to bring - €30 fee (or €25 if you have paid the deposit of 5€) - Swim wear (to put on under the wetsuit) - Sports wear and trainers - Towel - Change of clothes - Bottle of water 5. Booking and payment By the moment we have 12 PLACES AVAILABLE. To secure your RSVP a €5 non-refundable deposit needs to be made via PAYPAL: [masked], the remaining €25 are to be paid in cash on the day. When you transfer the money via PayPal please add a note and state there your name, mobile phone and the destination and date of the trip. We will refund the deposit in case we have to cancel the kayaking trip due to bad weather. In case you don't have PayPal or are unable to make the deposit please book the place by contacting me via message 6. Directions If you are driving once you come to the Sutton Cross junction, follow the road called Greenfield road, in about about 800 meters you will need to turn right and drive along the coast line till the end of the strand road, you pass the Sailing Club, drive more straight for about 500 meters and you will see us. If you are coming by bus you will need to take number 31A from lower Abbey Street and come out at the stop N688 which is a stop at the Shielmartin road. Once you come out of the bus you should see us. 7. Cancellation policy - For this kayaking trip to go ahead there must be at least a group of 8 people. - If we have to cancel due to bad weather conditions I will let you know within 48 hours so keep an eye on the event page. - If the trip is cancelled we will reschedule for the next available trip or we will refund your the deposit.
