What we're about

Annyeonghaseyo!

What do you know about Korea?

- A divided country with South Korea and North Korea?
- Seoul Olympics and Korean Japan Football World Cup?
- Samsung, LG? Kimchi, Bulgogi?
That's all most people know about Korea.

Korea is an interesting, beautiful and unique country, more than you know.

Our members are non-native speakers of Korean with a great interest in Korean language, food, culture, pop music, film/dramas etc. They come from Ireland, as well as lots of other countries like Finland, Poland, Italy, Japan, Denmark, Spain... And of course the majority of our members are also from South Korea!

In this meetup you can make meet new people and make friends, and more importantly you can communicate with friendly Korean people, and practice your English at the same time! We also organise events like hiking, noraebang, eating out, Korean films and other activities.
Everybody's welcome to the group!

You can also visit the Korean culture website.

Dublin Mountains Evening Walk

Dundrum Luas

On Friday 5th July we will have an evening walk in the Dublin Mountains. From the meeting point at Bus Stop 2825 beneath Dundrum Luas Stop, we will take the 44B bus to Johnny Fox's pub, known for being the highest pub in Ireland. We will then walk to Ballyedmondiff Wedge Tomb (also known as Giant's Grave), Two Rock, Fairy Castle and Three Rock before finishing up with a quick drink in the Blue Light pub. There is then a pleasant 15-20 mins walk to the bus stop where there are buses to Dublin City Centre. If the weather is good, we may stop for a short picnic along the way, so feel free to bring food and drink. Although there's nothing particularly Korean about this walk, it should be a great chance to talk to like-minded people about Korean or Irish culture, or to practice your English or Korean. Feel free to come on the walk even if you haven't been to a meet up before. This is a great way to meet new people and see new places. *** If you wish to wander off during a break then it's probably OK but please agree with the organisers a time you'll return so we're not waiting for you *** [Date] 5th July (FRIDAY) [Time] 17:15 ~ 22:00. The 44B bus is due to leave at 17:30 but please arrive in plenty of time in case it leaves a few minutes early. [Place] Bus Stop 2825 beneath Dundrum Luas Stop. If were you're coming from the city centre first cross over the tracks via the crossing. Then take the lift down to street level. The bus stop is on your left just before you get to the Ulster Bank on Main Street, Dundrum. [Host(s)] Tim and James [Organiser contact] Tim:[masked] James:[masked] Kakaotalk ID: jamesey Stephen:[masked] KakaoTalk ID: stenu84 Kyle:[masked] KakaoTalk ID: icarushs *Please take good care of your own belongings, the meetup's organisers will not take any responsibility for any lost items before, during or after the meetup. Also please take care when crossing roads as though this walk is mainly in parks and on minor roads there will be a few busy roads to cross. Please wear suitable footwear as some of the paths may be uneven or steep. It is also recommended to bring water to avoid dehydration. Bring warm clothes and a waterproof jacket or umbrella in case of inclement weather. The Dublin Korean Culture Meet Up Group supports the Leave No Trace Campaign
