Asylum Frights & Seamus Bites

This is a 2-destination event!
We’ll kick things off at 10:00 am by meeting in the parking lot of the dome-top building, our gathering point for the guided tour. The tour will last about an hour to an hour and a half and promises a fascinating look inside.
Afterward, at 12:00 pm, we’ll head over to Seamus McDaniels for lunch! Their menu is packed with favorites… juicy burgers, crispy wings, hearty sandwiches, fresh salads, and tempting appetizers.
It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday — a mix of history, fun, and great food!

What a treat this is! I’ve managed to make special arrangements with the volunteer staff at the St. Louis Asylum — some folks used to call it the Mental Hospital or even just Malcolm Blitz — to give us a private TOUR of the Mental Asylum. We’ll be stepping into the historic portion of the hospital, including a rare walk up to the iconic dome — yes, that dome you’ve seen crowning Arsenal Street, the one that’s been a mystery for decades.
This is your chance to wander its halls, hear stories from the past, and maybe even get a few chills along the way. It’s the perfect outing to get into the Halloweenie spirit — history, mystery, and maybe a ghost or two.
But don’t worry… you won’t leave haunted or hungry! After our tour, we’ll head to Seamus McDaniels, where we’ll enjoy hearty favorites like juicy burgers, crispy wings, Reubens, sandwiches, and fresh salads. From spooky frights to savory bites, this outing has it all.
