Happy V-a11y-tines Day

We'll discuss what we love about accessibility (a11y) and all sorts of other interesting a11y topics. For instance, February is Low Vision Awareness Month -- an interesting topic we could discuss deals with how people living with low vision navigate situations when they are at a store buying supplies, and the only method to pay for their items is with a touch screen, but the touch screen doesn't have good color contrast so the shopper cannot distinguish the number keys to enter their pin number... so they can't pay with their debit card... at least, they can't pay with their debit card without asking for assistance....

Anyway, come join in the fun conversations, share something, learn something, and hang out with others who enjoy making the world less cumbersome for all.

Featured Image Description: the image for this event features some Valentine candy hearts with words on them like "Curb Cuts Rule", "ADA", "A11y means love." Unfortunately I (Esther) couldn't figure out how to add alt text or a description to the Meetup event image. ChatGPT helped create the image and called one of its iterations: "Sweet Messages of Accessibility."
