What We're About
DurianPy is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and nurturing the growth of the Python programming community in Davao City.
Our Aim
- To demonstrate that Python offers something for everyone: hobbyists, educators, students, and professionals alike.
- To inspire individuals in Davao to excel in their craft through Python and open-source technologies.
- To provide a welcoming environment where the Python programming language and related technologies can be explored, discussed, and practiced.
We believe that by fostering environments that inspire and motivate individuals, we can make significant improvements in the tech industry in Davao City, encouraging technical competence and passion for the craft.
Why Python
We firmly believe in and support the impact and innovation Python has brought to the technology industry. Python powers the systems, products, and services of companies like Google, YouTube, NASA, Disney, Instagram, Disqus, Pinterest, and Bitbucket.
Python is also a versatile business solution for web development, automation, monitoring, artificial intelligence, data science, cloud computing, and more.
What we do
Since our inception, we have organized numerous events and activities to bring together Python enthusiasts in Davao City.
- We host regular meetups, workshops, and public Python training sessions throughout the year.
- We create opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration among Python programmers of all skill levels.
Whether you're new to programming, an experienced developer, or simply curious about Python, you're welcome to join our community!

About the Sprint
Apache Airflow is a platform that allows you to programmatically create, schedule, and monitor workflows. In this development sprint, an Apache Airflow committer will guide you through the setup of your development environment, help you identify a suitable issue to work on and assist you in making your first contribution to Airflow!
It is strongly recommended to follow through at [https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/dev/breeze/doc/01_installation.rst] since downloading Docker images can be quite time-consuming. If you encounter any issues, please feel free to ask questions in https://airflow.apache.org/community/.
For those with experience contributing to Airflow, we will provide a brief introduction to Airflow 3.0, which was released this April, following the environment setup section.
