About us
We're a casual group of people who love sketches and sketching. Whether you're into observational drawing, quick gesture work, conceptual sketches, or finished pieces, this is a place to share what you love about the medium. We get together regularly to look at sketches, talk about artists we admire, and just appreciate the immediacy and honesty that sketch work brings. You don't need to be an artist yourself—if you love looking at sketches and talking about what makes them work, you belong here.
The idea is pretty simple: we gather, we look at sketchbooks and sketch collections (both historical and contemporary), we discuss techniques, styles, and what draws us to certain artists' work. Sometimes we'll do sketch walks or sketching sessions together if people are interested. It's low-pressure and welcoming to all skill levels and backgrounds. We're just people who think there's something special about a well-executed sketch and want to spend time appreciating that craft with others who get it.
