Android Dependency Injection in 2022 - Hugo Visser

In this talk we're going to explore what dependency injection is and why it's a good idea to use in your projects.
Then we'll take a look at the two most popular dependency framework options for Android: Dagger and Koin, and talk about why Hilt exists and how it hits the sweet spot for the average Android app.

Android in the POS Payments Industry - Timon Langlotz

The Android platform has gained an increasing amount of attention from businesses for dedicated devices over the last couple of years. Especially in hospitality and retail we see a growing amount of solutions for order management, stock taking, and other business processes. But how do these devices interact with vendor specific hardware such as barcode readers and printers? And how do you keep your solution scalable and flexible for the future?

This talk will cover the following topics:
- Inter-process communication: AIDL
- Multi-vendor support: product flavors & Hilt

Timon Langlotz is a technical lead and Android software engineer at Adyen. His focus lies on building solutions for mobile all-in-one Android point of sale (POS) terminals.
