Yule Yoga
Details
Working in animal activism is an extremely important dharmic undertaking, and it can also bring heavy emotional weight and stress. Vystopia is real.
Yoga, fitness, and healthy plant-based eating are essential for sustainably staying in the fight for animal rights. This class is a community offering designed to help you pour back into yourself. We must take care of our own well-being and operate from a full cup in order to effectively care for others to the best of our ability.
We will have seasonal classes throughout next year, so stay tuned for those.
Yule invites you to honor the quiet beauty of winter, turning inward to cultivate light, gratitude, and peace as the natural world slows down.
Class will be held in the Green Room on the 3rd floor. Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move and hold poses easily. Please bring:
• Yoga mat
• Eye mask (or a small towel to cover your eyes)
• Blanket
• 2 Pillows: 1 large pillow (for under your knees/legs) and 1 small or neck pillow (to support the head)
• Warm layers (a sweater and cozy socks are highly recommended)
What to Expect
You will start on your yoga mat with movement and stretching to kindle inner warmth. After the movement practice, there will be a transition into an extended guided relaxation. This is where your extra props come in: you will use your blanket, pillows, eye mask, and cozy layers to get as comfortable as possible whilst resting on your back. The goal is to support your physical body into deep rest while your mind remains present and awake; observing the process of gentle stillness.
Your practice will include chanting/singing for peace and freedom for all beings and it will conclude in meditation.
