Join us as we take in an hour demonstration and lesson on grafting. Cameras are welcomed. The interior part of the mansion may be a fee, but the demonstration and visit to the property is free. I have visited this place a long-time learning more about the Bronx' history.
The Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum, located in the Bronx, New York, is a historic house museum situated within Pelham Bay Park. The mansion dates back to the early 19th century and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
About: Charles Day managed commercial fruit orchards in the UK for many years and spent several seasons grafting on a contract basis. Since moving to the US in 2000 he has worked as a consultant and was also a horticultural interpreter at Wave Hill until he retired in 2020.
If you would like to commute on your own, you can meet us there at 11:30 am. The demonstration starts at 11:30 am.
We meet promptly at the 6-train last stop Pelham Bay. Once exiting make your way to the 45-bus stop located at the bottom of the exit:
- 6 Train to Pelham Park
- Walk downstairs (do not cross any streets)
- On the lower level look for bus stop Bruckner Blvd & Wilkinson Avenue
