About us
Early Morning Riding Group – Starting This Fall
We’re a weekend crew of friends who love getting out early for a ride and still having plenty of time for the day’s “honey-do” list. Our rides typically take place on Saturdays and Sundays, starting at 6:00 AM. For longer routes, we may start even earlier.
Our focus is primarily on road rides, but as the weather cools, we mix in road/gravel and full gravel rides. All rides begin at the Palatine Metra Station in downtown Palatine.
We aim for 50 miles per ride, with a coffee stop built into every route (usually 15–25 minutes). Past routes have included destinations like Elgin, Lake Geneva, Woodstock, Whiting (IN), and Kenosha.
These are no-drop rides, so everyone stays together. When we’re in shape, we roll at 18–20 mph, often running a pace line so everyone shares the work.
We’re posting this now to gauge interest—let us know if you’d like to join us!
