Howdy, folks! We’re excited to kick off the season with our popular 3-week series in Country-Western Two-Step. If you like going to the country dances, you’re going to love learning all the popular moves we do in the Bay Area.

This series is great for brand new beginners and those who have taken a few lessons and want to see what else is possible.

Come as yourself—you may choose to lead or follow—no partner necessary. We’ll pair up and rotate regularly.

We encourage everyone to participate in the 3-week series, (August 13, 20 & 27) but drop-ins are welcome. Class begins at 6:45 PM, arrive early for warm-up and stick around for a little bit of social dancing right after class or for the Intermediate Nightclub Two-Step lesson at 7:45 PM. (If you’re getting familiar with dance and curious about the intermediate class, take it as a follow. We always need more follows.)

Location: Lake Merritt Dance at 200 Grand Ave., Oakland.

One class is $18 at the door, both classes in one evening costs $30. (Cash, card, and mobile payments accepted.)

What to bring: Dance shoes or "dance socks" are nice to have. Wear something comfortable--it may get warm as we get moving. Bring water.

How to find us: We are located at Lake Merritt Dance (a.k.a. the Veteran’s Memorial Building; a.k.a. the Oakland Senior Center) at 200 Grand Avenue, Oakland. Park in the parking lot adjacent to Bay Place—enter at Bay Place, exit at Grand Ave. The main doors are facing Bay Place. We are in the “Lounge” on the first floor—go up a few steps. It’s the room on the left with the glass doors.
