(LGBTQIA+) Intro to Ballroom & Country Two-Step Lessons begin Wednesday Sept 3

Details
Wanna try dancing? We are offering a mini-series in September: Intro to Ballroom, as well as (Beginner+) Country-Western Two-Step. Try one class or both!
6:45 PM: Intro to Ballroom Mini-Series!
Join us for this rare opportunity to learn about different ballroom dance styles as Citbaria guides us on a journey through quickstep, cha cha, tango and rumba. What is the count? What is the vibe? Where do my feet and hands go? This may be the first step in your career as a professional ballroom dancer, or just a fun thing for us to do together.
7:45 PM: Country-Western Two-Step (Combinations)
We love country-western two-step, and this mini-series will focus on very practical and memorable combinations of moves. Students will have tried or practiced some of these individual moves: sweetheart, cuddle, around-the-world, skaters, tea-cups, and others. We will string together moves like poetry and practice until they just roll off the tongue.
Come as yourself—you may choose to lead or follow—no partner necessary. We’ll pair up and rotate regularly.
Location: Lake Merritt Dance at 200 Grand Ave., Oakland.
One class is $18 at the door, both classes in one evening costs $30. (Cash, card, and mobile payments accepted.)
Please visit our website for pre-registration, discounts, and more info: oaklandqueerdance.com
What to bring: Dance shoes or "dance socks" are nice to have. Wear something comfortable--it may get warm as we get moving. Bring water.
