Memoir Revisions

A bunch of us have taken Alison Luterman's Write From Real Life workshop at the Writer's Salon (https://www.writingsalons.com/event/write-real-life-fall/) and finished 2000 word pieces. We then received critiques and our workshop mates generally ask for MORE. MORE scene, more details, more vulnerability.

Let's get together and share some of these revisions. All memoirists are welcome, but this meetup is for sharing rewrites in response to previous critiques.

If you are daring, post your revised pieces in the forum and let people read and comment ahead of time.

Otherwise, bring printouts of your pieces, preferably highlighting significant re-writes. We will try to find time to read and provide comments for as much of the pieces as possible depending on how many people attend.

I also want to give people an opportunity to find writing partners who will commit to sharing and commenting on 500 words a day.

Please bring your own snacks and drinks. We will be meeting in the ramshackle and charming old Bellevue Club on Lake Merritt in Oakland which is a fascinating place to visit in it's own right. Parking is available at the club. Ring the intercom for admittance.
