Neurodivergents Unite! - March 3rd (Meeting 36!)

Details
Join us on March 3rd for an evening of connection, conversation, and community. Bring a friend, a favorite game, or your latest hyperfixation!
Structured Activity Planned for Event:
We’re excited to introduce an optional 20–30 minute obstacle/stim course at the beginning of the meetup. This activity is designed to spark discussion about the impact of movement and stimming on our well‐being. (No pressure to participate—the space is large enough to accommodate everyone’s comfort level.)
Updated Agenda:
- 7:00 – 7:15 PM: Doors open – explore, converse, decompress (please wait until 7:00 PM to arrive).
- 7:15 – 7:45 PM: Planned Activity: Obstacle/stim course with discussion questions.
- 7:45 – 8:30 PM: Free, unstructured time to mingle, share, and enjoy the space.
- 8:30 – 8:45 PM: Closing circle and remarks.
- Cleanup volunteers are welcome.
Note:
Please take a moment to fill out our new NDU Meetup feedback survey. Your input is entirely anonymous and invaluable for tailoring our events to the community’s interests: Feedback Survey
A few reminders about our space at Firehouse Projects:
- Multiple levels are available to suit different sensory and mobility needs; quieter spaces are upstairs, while the bottom level is more social. A brief tour will be offered.
- Street parking is available nearby, and we’re close to a Bart Station.
- We use a color coding system (red, yellow, green) to indicate social battery levels.
- Our framework for navigating difficult conversations is available if needed.
- Periodic wellness and break reminders may be offered.
- Consent applies to personal space as well as other forms of interaction (words, attention, or shared information).
Our Group’s Mission:
To provide space and resources that foster connection and community for neurodiverse adults via shared interests, while creating safe spaces for marginalized and neurodivergent communities in the Oakland Bay Area. We commit to engaging in the difficult conversations at the intersections of our identities.
If you can, please also fill out our survey for our collaborators and venue hosts at Firehouse Projects: Firehouse Projects Survey
We can’t wait to see you and experience this new activity together!
