Cove at Concord Park Walk w/ETW (5K/10K), Farragut, Saturday, Mar 22nd, 9/10am
Details
What: Join the East Tennessee Wanderers for a walk in The Cove at Concord Park, Knoxville, TN (Farragut). We will have both a 10K (6.2 mile) and a 5K (3.1 mile) walk. We will also plan to have an optional lunch at either Johnny Brusco's New York Pizza or Lakeside Tavern following our walks for those who are interested (depending on turnout). The Cove at Concord Park does allow pets, however, the restaurants do not.
When: The 10K walkers leave at 9:00am and the 5K group will leave at 10:00am on Saturday, Mar. 22nd, 2025. This is an American Volkssport Association (AVA) sanctioned club walk and we have a modest $3.00 fee per walker to cover sanctioning fees and insurance costs. Payment will be made to the walk leader on the day of the walk. Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure for registration.
Where: We will meet in the Cove at Concord Park parking lot, 11808 S Northshore Drive, Knoxville, TN, 37922. (This is not near the dog park. This is west of the yacht club, across from the baseball fields.) Look for the "Neon Green Shirts", as we will be your guides for this walk. There are restrooms available in the park. Johnny Brusco's is located at 1620 Choto Markets Way (plaza near intersection of S Northshore Drive and Choto Rd.), Knoxville, 37922, Lakeside Tavern is at 10911 Concord Park Dr. for those interested in Lakeside over Pizza & Calzones.
Details: The walks are on a combination of well defined dirt trails and some paved greenway with moderate elevation changes. Some people may wish to bring walking sticks for a few sections that have some uneven stony ground. There will be an option for the 5K walkers to do an out-and-back on the greenway (1A rated). The wooded walks would be rated a 3C walk with the AVA rating scale for the natural trails sections. The 10K walk will also visit the Calloway Ridge Trails section of Concord Park.
Our sanctioned walks are also open to non-members.
