Baker Hollow Branch 5K/10K Walk w/ETW, Saturday Oct. 25th, Lenoir City, TN

What: Join the East Tennessee Wanderers for a walk on the Baker Hollow Branch Trail (5K/3.1mi.) along the eastern shores of Tellico Lake, Lenoir City, TN. The 10K (6.3 miles) will continue to the Mizell Trailhead. Both walks will be out-n-back walks. The trail is a part of the East Lakeshore Trail system. We will also plan to have an optional lunch/ice cream (at Calhoun's, Lenoir City) following our walks for those who are interested. The East Lakeshore Trail system does allow pets.

When: Saturday, Oct. 25th, 2025. The 10K walkers will leave at 9:00am and the 5K group will leave at 10:00am. Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure.

Where: We will meet in the Antioch Parking & Trailhead at the western terminus of Antioch Church Rd West, Lenoir City, TN. (Please remember the "West" designation, otherwise, you might end up on Antioch Rd. East. Once on Antioch Church Rd West, proceed to the end of the road to the parking area.) Look for the "Neon Green Shirts", as we will be your guides for this walk. There are compostable restrooms available at the trailhead. Some will need to park along the roadway as the parking lot has limited spaces.

Walk Details: The Baker Hollow Branch is on well groomed dirt trails with moderate elevation changes (~200 ft for the 5K and ~337 ft for the 10K). It is fully shaded. Some people may wish to bring walking sticks for a few sections that may have uneven ground. The 5K would be rated a 2C walk with the AVA rating scale and the 10K rated a low 3C.

Registration: This is an American Volksport Association (AVA) sanctioned club walk and we have a modest $3.00 fee per walker, payable to the walk leader when you arrive, to cover sanctioning fees and insurance costs. Exact change appreciated.
