Metcalf Bottom-Walker Sisters Cabin 6K/10k Walk w/ETW, Monday, Nov. 3rd

What: Join the East Tennessee Wanderers for a free fall 6K/10K (3.7 mile/6.2 mile)) walk on the Metcalf Bottoms Trail & Little Brier Gap Trail to enjoy the fall leaves and visit the newly renovated Walker Sisters Cabin and the Little Greenbrier School. We will plan an optional lunch at either Peaceful Side Social Brewery & Craft Kitchen, Sloppy Hog Burger Joint, or The Riverstone following the walk.
When: Monday, November 3rd, 2025 at 9:00am (10K) or 10:00am (6K).
Where: We will meet at the Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area, "Wear Cove Picnic Road South Parking Area A", (also called Parking lot, Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area Rd S, Gatlinburg, TN 37738), Gatlinburg, TN. The optional lunch will be at the Peaceful Side Social Brewery & Craft Kitchen, 7967 E. Lamar Alexander Parkway, Townsend, TN or Sloppy Hog Burger Joint, 3269 Wears Valley Rd, or The Riverstone, 8503 TN-73, Townsend. Reminder: Cell Service is not available within the park. Be sure to start your GPS systems before entering the park.
Parking Fee: There is a $5 per vehicle parking fee for the GSMNP. Day passes are available online or at the kiosk near the restrooms.
Restrooms: Restrooms are available year-round in the south loop parking area.
Details: This trail is a natural surface trail with some elevations and uneven terrain. Walking sticks may be helpful. Both walks would be rated a 3C.
Registration: A waiver will still be signed but ETW is covering the walk fees for this walk.
Rideshare: If interested in sharing a ride, please contact president@easttennesseewanderers.org. From Maryville it takes about 50 minutes to drive to the trailhead. If you are not planning to join us for lunch, you may wish to drive on your own.
