Gatlinburg Tourist Walk 5K/10K w/ETW - Sat. Feb 14th 9:30/10:30am
Details
What: Join the East Tennessee Wanderers on Valentine's Day for a "Tourist Walk" in downtown Gatlinburg. If you have never been to Gatlinburg, this is your chance for an introduction. Explore the streets of Gatlinburg, find those destinations you may want to visit another day, or later that afternoon, following the walk. We will have both a 10K (6.2 mile) and a 5K (3.1 mile) walk. Lunch plans will be made by those attending as some may wish to venture out on their own for Valentine's Day.
When: The 10K walkers leave at 9:30am and the 5K group will leave at 10:30am on Saturday, February 14th, 2026. This is an American Volksport Association (AVA) sanctioned club walk and we have a modest $3.00 fee per walker to cover sanctioning fees and insurance costs. This is payable at the start of the walk. Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure for registration.
Where: We will meet in front of the McMahan Parking Garage, 520 Parkway TN-71, Gatlinburg, TN 37738. Look for the "Neon Green Shirts", as we will be your guides for this walk. Restrooms are available in front of the Parking Garage.
Walk Details: The walk is primarily on sidewalks in downtown Gatlinburg with minor elevation changes (less than 150ft). This walk can take some extra time as some like to window shop and explore various retail establishments. Go slow, enjoy the sights and sounds. This is not a scenic walk. AVA ranking would be a 1A. We will walk as a group, but directions will be available for anyone wishing to go at their own pace. (Just let the leader(s) know if you head out on your own.)
Driving/Parking: Parking is $15-$20 per day depending on where you park. McMahan Parking Garage, 520 Parkway TN-71, and the Aquarium Parking Garage, 161 Greystone Heights Rd are Municipal Parking Garages and are $15 per day.
Pets are allowed on the walk, however, it is very busy with pedestrian traffic and it may be too stressful for some dogs and owners.
