What we’re about
Join our East Bay Art + Tech Meetup (Hayward based) to share and collaborate in the space where art intersects with technology. Art means a lot of things to a lot of people, and this group aims to explore the works, tools, processes, etc - as long as technology is in the conversation around the creation, consumption, or exploration.
Digital painting, video creation, music production, interactive art, electronics, generative AI are all examples of great stuff to explore. But also, even if the art takes a more traditional form such as writing, painting, or sculpting, yet technology helped shape it - this group is interested in that process.
Maybe your code is art, or your app or website is thought provoking, or your work is just plain fun and silly. Maybe still, your end result isn't art but there are some interesting tools and processes you uncovered that are useful for creating art. We want to hear about it.
In short - lets explore creativity in our community through the lens of all things art and tech. This group will be broad until we see who comes to participate. These members as they come to listen, collaborate or share will help shape the ongoing discussion in our Hayward and beyond community.
We're grateful to have support from a local Hayward non-profit art gallery and makerspace. The Sun Gallery in Hayward (sungallery.org) is increasingly adding tech to it's repertoire, so we'll be meeting right there in the studio/makerspace. We personally hope for some FIERCE collaboration.
My current plan for in-person meetings is to hear from you all about topics you're interested in and find folks from this group or beyond to present them. Additionally, I love the rapid-fire show and tell events!
