WEEKDAY WALK: ALFRISTON-RATHFINNY CIRCULAR (5.5 MILES)

Hi all. This walk takes us from Alfriston, climbing into open country with great views, then to the Rathfinny Winery. We will walk through the estate, stopping for coffee or a glass of wine at their hut (amazing views) before returning to Alfriston along the river. This is a moderate walk, c.5.5m with one very long, gradual hill up early on.

We can’t eat our own food in the winery so we’ll have a second short stop on the riverbank, sitting on the grass. Please bring a snack & sitmat.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome and I walk with a friendly dog called Josie.

The free carpark in Alfriston is 3 hours max, which probably won’t be long enough, but there's a long stay carpark (charges apply) or free roadside parking on North Road, The Furlongs and Kings Ride. We will meet at Market Cross, ie the triangle at the top of the High Street in front of Ye Olde Smugglers Inne. Please allow 10 mins to park & walk to the meeting point, and please be booted and ready to set off at 1030.
