FRIDAY WALK: ALFRISTON-RATHFINNY CIRCULAR (5.5 MILES)

Hi all. This walk takes us from Alfriston, climbing into open country to the Rathfinny Winery. We will walk through the estate, stopping for coffee or a glass of wine at their hut (amazing views) before returning to Alfriston along the river. This is a moderate walk, c.5.5m with one very long, gradual hill up early on.

We will stop for coffee en route but the lunch stop will be at the Tye in Alfriston at the end of the walk for anyone who wants to linger. There's a cafe serving good coffee, pastries, ice-cream, and we can have a picnic on the grass.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, on lead through the Rathfinny estate.

The free carpark in Alfriston is 3 hours max, which many not be long enough, but there's free roadside parking on North Road, The Furlongs and Kings Ride. We will meet at Market Cross, the triangle at the top of the High Street in front of Ye Olde Smugglers Inne. Please allow 10 mins to park & walk to the meeting point, and please be booted and ready to set off at 1030.
