Warrandyte to Blue Tongue Bend, 12km, 370m elevation (easy) - Xmas breakup
Stonehouse Cafe, 321 Ringwood Warrandyte Road, Warrandyte, AUJoin us for a 12km out-and-back hike following trails along the Yarra River in Warrandyte.
The hike will be followed by Christmas lunch at the StoneHouse cafe.
Please reply to messages below if you wish to attend the lunch, to ensure accurate reservation.

A good level of fitness and the ability to maintain a good steady pace is required to complete this hike.
What to bring:
- 2 litres of water

- proper hiking boots/shoes
- rain/wind/sun protection clothing and SPF50 sunscreen
- personal first aid kit

Wilsons Promontory - 4 days/3 nights pack hike
Wilsons Promontory National Park, Tidal River, Victoria, Victoria, AUThe schedule for this multi-day back packing hiking trip is as follows:
- Friday, 30 January - arrive Tidal River, hike Tidal River to Oberon Bay (10km), camp
- Saturday, 31 January - hike Oberon Bay to Refuge Cove (19km), camp
- Sunday, 1 February - hike Refuge Cove to Little Waterloo Bay (8 km), camp
- Monday, 2 February - hike Little Waterloo Bay to Telegraph Saddle (11km), catch shuttle bus back to Tidal River, end of trip.
This brilliant multi-day back packing hiking trip includes camping close to some of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the country. Swimming is good at all camp sites.
Cost: $25 (total) for three nights of camping. This covers the camp-site that I have already reserved and paid for.
Note: This trip is only open to members who regularly attend our events and have experience with multi-day pack backing hiking trips.

What to bring:
All items required for a 4 day/3 night back packing hiking trip including:
- backpack large enough to carry all equipment
- tent/sleeping bag and pad
- food to last trip, including energy food and drinks
- camp stove and fuel, food utensils
- water bottles/bladders
- hiking boots/shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, bathers, quick dry towel, hiking poles
- personal first aid and hygiene supplies, headlamp or torch.

Mount Buffalo base camp hiking weekend
Mt Buffalo Caravan Park, Harrisons Lane, Porepunkah, AUJoin us for another fun weekend camping at the Mount Buffalo Caravan Park and exploring Mount Buffalo National Park with its spectacular granite cliffs, crisp fresh air, giant tors, deep gorges, tumbling waterfalls, Snow Gum woodlands and masses of summer wildflowers and views of the nearby Alps.
The itinerary is as follows:
Friday, 27 February 2026
- Arrive at the Mount Buffalo Caravan Park. Check in is after 11am.
- Set up camp
- Optional walk - 2pm – meet at the gate of the caravan park. Drive 37 mins to the start point. Sunday, 1 February 2026
- After breakfast, pack up
- 9am meet at the gate of the caravan park at 9am. Drive about 35 mins to the start point.

- Drive 25 mins back towards the camp
- 2nd walk - Eurobin Falls Walk (1.1km) https://www.alltrails.com/trail/australia/victoria/eurobin-falls-walk
- Drive home.

The caravan park provides different accommodation options. Visit their website for options, availability, fees and to book. Bookings can also be made via telephone on 03 5756 2235.

Getting there:
The Mount Buffalo Caravan Park, set on the junction of the Ovens and Buckland Rivers is situated at 13 Harrison Lane, Porepunkah, three to four hours’ drive north-east from Melbourne along the Hume Highway. Exit onto the Great Alpine Road (B500) and continue until you reach Porepunkah. From there, follow the signs/local roads to the caravan park.
