Barefoot Hike at Purgatory Chasm

Details
We'll take a barefoot hike through Purgatory Chasm and on over to Little Purgatory. The hike involves a lot of boulder climbing as we navigate the quarter mile split in the rock. From the chasm we'll hike over to Little Purgatory via a very comfortable packed dirt trail. At the Little Purgatory site there are a few little waterfalls among the huge pieces of shattered rock. We'll follow the rim trail back to the parking lot. If members of the group would like we can do it twice. I'm known for going through it two or three times per trip - it's fun :)
Parts of this hike are slow going as we scramble and climb over boulders and stitch through gaps between the huge rocks. Other parts of the hike are easier. A stretch of gravel connects the chasm to Little Purgatory Trail. I think we can do the route in a couple of hours or less, depending on the group. I would rate this as an intermediate hike but new barefooters are welcome. I recommend that new barefooters bring backup sh@@s for the tough spots. The big boulders are fun, even for new feet. Please note that if it's raining we can not do this hike as the rocks will be too slippery.
