Beginner's Barefoot Hike at Broadmoor

Details

This will be our first beginners hike of the season! Let's try to get some of our new members out there. Come join us for an enjoyable, easy barefoot hike at the Mass Audubon Broadmoor sanctuary. Broadmoor has a number of very easy, clean trails which are ideal for new barefoot hikers. We will cover between one and three miles depending on how those in the group feel. These trails are leaf and pine needle covered woodland trails running through a beautiful wildlife sanctuary. This time of year there could be some mud and water on the trails, not a problem for bare feet!!

Each hiker should bring water and DEET tick repellant. Ticks are a real problem lately. Those new to going barefoot should bring backup shoes to get over the gravel lead in. Instruction will be provided before and during the hike.

Meet at the end of the parking lot nearest the nature center. Look for barefoot people. There is a five dollar charge to enter the preserve unless you are a Mass Audubon member.
